What are your thoughts on technology in the classroom? How is this integrated in the school you work at?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the use of technology is a great resource for stimulating learner involvement as well as learning itself. At my school, we use the Internet door almost everything we do. We do not confine ourselves to just the textbook nd the CAPS document. Also, we show learners videos of certain concepts that they may find difficult. It is also easy to search the Internet for explanations or concepts brought up during a class discussion as the school uses wifi, thus we can connect devices. We have white boards and projectors in the classroom which makes the writing board approach dull because learners are kept interested with pictures and animations. Some of our learners are up to date with technology. I say this because a grade 10 learner in my Life Sciences class had to help me connect my laptop correctly to the projector and allow what I am looking at on my screen to be different from the screen I intended to show them. We should not underestimate our learners knowledge inside the classrooms!
DeleteIn all said, technology is used on a regular basis during lessons. However, I would have enjoyed using the smart board in the classroom because it is just standing there in the class store room.
